Paleo Diet Here I Come!

Well, I have decided. I am going to do it. I am going to make a drastic change in my diet and try the Paleo diet. The Paleo diet, from what I have learned, is going back to the way of eating that has no dairy, no grains, no sugars, no processed food. I don’t have any food allergies at all and am only mildly sensitive to dairy when I have too much of it or it is very rich dairy. So these aren’t the reasons why I want to switch to the diet, or way of eating (I don’t like thinking or saying that I am on a “diet”). I am just sick of not feeling my best. I am sick of my weight always being a minimum of 15 pounds overweight (or more sometimes!) and I have the hardest time losing it! I am sick of having aches and pains and I know that inflammation has a lot to do with that and I know that your diet can have something to do with that. I am sick of not being able to sleep well and having low energy most of the time. So, I have been doing my research and have decided that this is the way of eating that I want to try…maybe for just a few months, or maybe for longer. We will see how it goes. I am excited too because my husband has decided to jump on the band wagon with me and eat the same way! That will make cooking these types of meals much easier! My 1o year old twins will have to adjust to these meals! I won’t be making two different meals, that’s for sure! Who knows, maybe it will be good for them to eat this way too with both of them having ADHD/ADD and my daughter being a bit overweight. Being kids though, I know they like their desserts so I have already bought the Paleo desserts cookbook! I like my desserts too, believe me, so if I can make some yummy but healthy desserts for my family to help them feel like we all are not being deprived, that would be a win!

I will keep you posted with my progress. I haven’t started it yet. I have been gathering recipes so that I know how to begin with some yummy food that my family will like. I plan to start with a 21 day recipe program that I found online through PaleoHacks. They have been my main resource so far. I am also waiting on my Paleo Eats cookbook to arrive. Wish me luck!
